Evergreen Habitat for Humanity provides the opportunity for individuals and families to purchase homes in Clark County through their affordable homeownership program

VANCOUVER – Evergreen Habitat for Humanity celebrates a milestone of serving Clark County for 35 years this year with a community block party hosted at their office location at 3200 NE 52nd Street, Vancouver on Sunday, Aug. 30,12:30 to 3 p.m.

With rising costs, purchasing a home continues to be a local issue as much as it is a national issue, making it challenging for working families and individuals to become first-time homeowners. Evergreen Habitat for Humanity provides the opportunity for individuals and families to purchase homes in Clark County through their affordable homeownership program.

In the last 35 years, Evergreen Habitat has served over 240 homeowners, with the number only increasing with current repair and build projects such as the 132nd Cottages located in East Vancouver, in the North Image neighborhood. This project is the future site of 32 cottage homes with shared green space, encouraging community connection. More recently in the last five years, the organization has continued to experience exponential growth with the opening of a second Clark County Habitat Store in West Vancouver off St John’s Road, a new office location, and a growing staff across departments.

In this exciting time, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity continues to look ahead with an innovative approach for more affordable homeownership opportunities for more individuals and families. For a closer look into what the organization has coming up, community members are invited to attend their largest event, Raising the Roof Benefit Breakfast on Thursday, September 24, with doors opening at 6:30 a.m. at the downtown Vancouver Hilton.
