In her new role, Myers will help plan and execute the DCA’s diverse calendar of events while supporting local businesses and strengthening community connections

CAMAS — The Downtown Camas Association (DCA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Christine Myers as its new Event & Project Manager, beginning Sept. 1. Myers brings more than five years of experience in community engagement, event management, wellness programming, marketing, and partnership development throughout Clark County.

Myers was selected for the position because of her accomplished background in community events, her strong connection to the community, her experience in the wellness industry, and her enthusiasm for bringing people together through fun, meaningful, and engaging experiences.

In her new role, Myers will help plan and execute the DCA’s diverse calendar of events while supporting local businesses and strengthening community connections. Her responsibilities will include event logistics, vendor coordination, community partnerships, marketing and communications, and day-of event management.

“My goal has always been to create experiences that bring people together and strengthen the communities they call home,” said Myers. “I’m thrilled to join the Downtown Camas Association and excited to work alongside our local businesses and community to create meaningful experiences that bring people together.”

Myers most recently has served as Director of Project Wellness, where she led community markets, annual retreats, educational workshops, special events and the production of Project Wellness Magazine. Myers also founded and served as Program Director for The Fluid Soul, a community-centered wellness and educational business. In that role, she planned and executed dozens of workshops, classes, trainings, collaborative gatherings, and community events.

Her experience aligns closely with the DCA’s goal of creating a vibrant, welcoming downtown where businesses and community members can thrive.

Current DCA Event & Project Manager Leah Nichelson, who will transition into the DCA Executive Director position following longtime Executive Director Carrie Schulstad’s retirement at the end of November, is looking forward to welcoming Myers to the team.

Myers’ addition to the team is an important step in the DCA’s continued commitment to creating innovative programming, supporting downtown businesses, and providing opportunities for residents and visitors to connect with Downtown Camas.
