Art enthusiasts invited on a self-guided tour to nine studios, featuring 25 artists
The Washougal Studio Artists Tour, now in its sixth year, is inviting art enthusiasts to explore the heart of Washougal this weekend, just in time for Mother’s Day.
The self-guided event is May 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring 25 artists at nine studio locations.
The tour celebrates the artistry found within the community, offering visitors the opportunity to discover artists who produce a variety of media, including sculpture, mixed media, jewelry, acrylic, watercolor, oil and more.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our sixth year of the Washougal Studio Artists Tour and excited to offer visitors our interactive website and driving map for a more immersive experience,” said Shirley Bishop, co-organizer, and local glass artist. “Our artists are eager to share their passion for art with visitors and give them a glimpse into their creative process.”
This year’s tour features a new collective, the Adret Artist Collective at Studio No. 6. The collective features five local artists who share studio space and inspiration to create mixed media, collage and acrylic art.
Among the artists scheduled to be part of the tour this weekend: painter David Van Zandt, Peace By Piece Pottery by Jennifer Patel, Jenny Armstrong of DK Designs with pyrography and leather arts, and many more.
The tour’s redesigned website (https://www.washougalstudioartists.org) offers visitors the chance to explore each artist, with in-depth profiles. The site also maps out the studio locations for the tour as well as nearby restaurants.
The tour is free.
Organizers hope that visitors find the tour to be an opportunity to bring mothers, friends, and family to enjoy a memorable experience.
