Living in California for almost 25 years. Mail-in voting was taken to a whole new level, It use to be for people who were out of state and couldn't vote on election day. Now everyone can vote by mail-in ballots, as they do here. There is a lot of risk with mail-in ballots and drop boxes, especially when a state wants to stay a crumbling state. The only way we can have a safe election is to vote at the polling stations, and have trustworthy personnel counting and watching the count. We need good people running our state Republican or Democrat not the same people who have been in for decades who are ruining it. How do you think Newsom won the recall election? They don't care about us. They think we are all idiots.

Many people seem to forget that mail voting is optional. If you don't like it, abstain. I will always respect your decision about how you vote. Why can't you return the favor?

I always enjoyed the in person voting even though I didn't have a lot of time left after work. There were always more than enough polling places and short wait times. That being said, the myth of voter fraud with mail in ballots is just that.

Everyone remembers when the results were known that night. What they don't remember is the races weren't that close and there were a lot less votes to count.

Voting should be a 3-day weekend National Holiday event. Ending Sunday at midnight. If there is a line out the door when the polls close, too bad, you had all weekend to make it to the polls.

In all the years that I did "in-person voting", I always read that voter pamphlet in advance and made my choices at home. The state mailed the pamphlet and sample ballot a few weeks before the election, as we currently do here in Washington. The voting process only took about 10 minutes.

That's true. But it may come down to making things easy vs losing our right to vote exept as a charade. The real problem is in the counting.. But all along the process, we must demand proof of legality and harlshly pushish fictional votes, fiddling with numbers in the computer, "voting" for people without their permission, and allowing illegal votes intentionally.

I for one have appreciated the mail-in vote to be able to take my time to read the info of candidates and measures. There is always so much to understand, and in-person voting would take considerable time to vote if not informed. The only solution would be to take the voters pamphlet with you, marked in advance of voting to expedite the process at the polls. I too miss the polls in person, but with population growth and spread of disease issues, mail-in is much safer.

When I was growing up (many years ago), We would vote one day, and have 99% of the results within 24 hours in our state (not Washington).

We should vote in person and show a basic ID (Driver's License or state issued ID Card, Voter's Registration Card, passport, etc.). If you know you aren't available on voting day, then formally request an "Absentee Ballot" and vote by mail. Ballots have to be postmarked by election day, otherwise they were invalid.... Simple, Effective, and Honest.......
