The Northwest Nonsense

This weekend’s deadly incident at an In-N-Out burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, should serve as a good warning for those of us who make our homes in Oregon and Washington.

The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

Police say 24-year-old Chad Williams showed up with a semi-automatic rifle Saturday afternoon in Twin Falls, leaving three dead and seven wounded.

The good guy – 35-year-old healthcare worker Jordan Salinas – who saw the killer as he and his girlfriend arrived at the In-N-Out and drew and fired his concealed carry pistol. Police have properly identified Salinas as a hero in the situation.

While the killer coward Williams ended up taking his own life, it was shots from Jordan Salinas’s gun that drove the killer away from the scene.

Incompetent public policy, defunding of police, liberal judges and prosecutors make the Northwest a much more dangerous place than it ever has been.

When police response times to real emergencies now exceed 20 minutes in places like Seattle and Portland, citizens must prepare to defend themselves.

And the legacy news media could encourage self-defense by using honest language. Call the killers killers and not just shooters, and call the good guys and gals with guns heroes when they deserve it.
