One aspect of prop 4 is a "traffic enforcement camera program." The main focus of these programs is as a revenue source, not traffic safety. I would favor a statewide ban on "traffic enforcement camera" programs. Do we need a private contractor reaping a large windfall from the people of Vancouver? Of course, the city would receive a "piece of the action," but studies have shown that there is little or no effect on traffic safety. Only on driver's pocketbook.

This is a genie which you do NOT want to let out of the bottle. If approved, the increased costs of Proposition 4 are far reaching and never ending. It is the proverbial slippery slope, down which you don't want to start.

I'll be voting NO (or against) on Proposition 4. I'll be voting YES (or for) the citizen initiatives. Between them all, the associated costs will decimate the lower and middle class. Many people will simply be taxed out of their homes.
