
🎧 Vancouver Brush Fire Spreads Toward I-5, 42 Fighters Respond
No homes were harmed although a storage shed and several tall bushes and trees were damaged
Just after noon on Friday (July 31), the Vancouver Fire Department and Clark County Fire District 6 were dispatched to a possible house fire at 5900 NE 6th Ave. in Vancouver.
The first fire engine arrived from CCFD 6 in less than five minutes and found a large grass and brush fire behind a home and asked for additional units. No homes were harmed although a storage shed and several tall bushes and trees were damaged.
The fire required 14 fire apparatus with about 42 total firefighters as there were multiple different areas on fire. This fire was about a total of 600 feet x 400 feet with three simultaneous fires, which required extinguishment from different angles. This fire also spread over the concrete wall and down towards Interstate 5.
Traffic remained open on the freeway during fire operations. No injuries were reported and no one was displaced.
The fire was under control in 15 minutes, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s office. You are encouraged to reach out to their office for possible causes of the fire.
