Vancouver Police report missing man found

UPDATE: Arthur Applegate was located in Shasta Lake, Calif.

Vancouver Police Department officials reported a missing Vancouver man has been located in Shasta Lake, Calif.  Arthur Applegate appears to be okay both physically and mentally at the moment.  His family has been updated.  

investigators were requesting assistance with locating Applegate, a 70-year-old male.  Applegate was last seen leaving his residence on foot at 6100 block of Kansas Street in Vancouver.  He mentioned to a family member that he was going to “roam around in Portland.”

Applegate is described as a white male with hazel eyes, gray hair (balding), approximately 5-foot-6 and 114 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans, and white shoes.  Applegate also was carrying a small-to-medium size tan backpack.

Applegate does not have a vehicle and the most recent number to his cell phone is unknown at this time.  He has medical conditions that affect his memory and mental health.

Applegate’s physical welfare may be compromised due to his absence as he at times gets confused and disoriented when on his own.
