A disgusting out of touch bureaucrat is quoted as saying "provide a financial incentive to take public transportation or to walk or to bike.”

Since when does this fools job description include forcing low income people to waste their time (and the public's money) taking transit which usually takes TWICE AS LONG to get people to work? Not to mention exposing them to various diseases, criminals and crazy people that infest transit and which the transit agencies neglect to control.

Why does he think people should risk their lives on bikes which KILL PEOPLE AT 7-10 TIMES THE RATE OF CARS?

At least he appears to not have fallen for Al Gore's climate scam since he wants people to use transit which emits more CO2 per passenger-mile than cars.

He needs to realize that his job is to accomodate peoples needs, not shape them to his utopian world view - that world view ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union.

PS. Tolls are by the axle, and the link above is for 2 axle vehicles. This link includes the current toll rates for vehicles with more axles. https://wstc.wa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/2021-SR520-WAC468-270-071.pdf

"The team can use tolling as a tool, according to Millar. “Here in Washington state, we use tolling for two things. “We use tolling to generate revenue to pay off bonds . . . we use tolling to manage demand for the highway. Toll rates are used to reduce the number of people that would otherwise drive on the highway and to provide a financial incentive to take public transportation or to walk or to bike.”
“The team is looking at tolling as a way to encourage more robust use of transit and more robust use of walking and riding,” Millar said.
“If you want to move a certain number of people to transit, if you want to move a certain number of people to walking and biking, the toll is going to have to be X"
X is just a starting point. Tolls will increase by as much as the transportation department decides. See the current rates, and pending increases for I-520 bridge between Seattle and the east side. https://wstc.wa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/2021-0614-SR520-TollRate-Option1.pdf
What is the cost of tolling? For every $1 collected in tolls, how much goes to collection costs?
