Homicide suspect arrested in Vancouver

Austin J. Navarro, 29, was taken into custody Friday after a short foot pursuit

On Aug. 23 at about 9:39 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to a welfare check of a female slumped over the wheel of a vehicle in the 4100 Block of E. 4th Plain Blvd. Upon arrival, it was discovered the female had suffered from homicidal violence and was pronounced deceased.  

Probable cause was developed for 29-year-old Austin J. Navarro. 

On Friday (Aug. 27) at about 4:13 p.m., Navarro was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit near the 1900 Block of W. 27th St. 

Navarro was booked at the Clark County Jail on a charge of Murder II, DV and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name and cause of death.
