F-15 jets rocket across the skies as epic ‘thank you’ to medical workers

Jets flew over many regional hospitals today as part of nurses week

VANCOUVER — Hurtling through the air at half the speed of sound, F-15 fighter jets soared across the skies above many area hospitals today, in honor of those that work in them.

The spectacle drew hundreds of socially distanced onlookers at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver; one of the stops on the planes’ flight plan.

The pilots from the Oregon Air National Guard, conducted the maneuvers as a visual “thank you’’ honoring medical and healthcare workers, who have faced great danger and difficulty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ClarkCountyToday.com had the opportunity to film the flyovers at both PeaceHealth and a Providence hospital in Oregon. Be sure to watch our video above.

If you have your own video or photos of the F-15s flying overhead, the Oregon Air National Guard is encouraging you to post on social media using the hashtags: #AirForceSalutes, #AFFlyover, #FlyoverFriday, #InThisTogether
