Weatherspoon to fill Director 4 position left vacant when Rachel Rogers resigned


The Evergreen School Board Directors has selected Jacqueline Weatherspoon to fill Director 4 position left vacant when Rachel Rogers resigned. Weatherspoon was one of five candidates interviewed and brought forward for consideration at the Feb. 18 School Board meeting. Weatherspoon will be sworn in at the March 8 School Board meeting.

Weatherspoon is the mother of three teenagers who are currently attending schools in the Evergreen School District. Weatherspoon has volunteered for multiple school organizations including the Harmony Elementary PTA and she is currently a member of Evergreen Public Schools Equity Advisory Committee. Weatherspoon is a graduate of Florida A&M University where she earned a degree in Journalism. Weatherspoon previously worked as a journalist, including a stop at The Oregonian newspaper where she held numerous positions.  

Weatherspoon’s appointment as a board member will be through December, 2023. The position will be up for election for a four-year term in November, 2023.
