Clark County Sheriff’s Office responds to shooting near Heritage High School

A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting is a result of an ongoing dispute among rival gangs

On Friday (Feb. 18) at about noon, CCSO deputies responded to a disturbance with a weapon at the 7300 block of NE 131st avenue just south of Heritage High School.  Deputies arrived and located one juvenile male with a gunshot injury to the arm. 

There were at least 20 to 30 Heritage High School students gathered around during the incident. The juvenile male was treated and taken to the hospital.  A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting is a result of an ongoing dispute among rival gangs. 

The investigation is being handled by the CCSO Tactical Detectives Unit.
