Woman killed in collision with tree

Accident took place late Wednesday night; driver has been identified as 22-year-old Washougal resident

CAMAS — An adult female was found deceased in her vehicle after colliding with a tree late Wednesday night in Fern Prairie. The woman was later identified by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office as Kaylene N. Christensen, a 22-year-old resident of Washougal.

At 10:32 a.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies and EMS units were dispatched to a single vehicle collision at NE 14th Street and NE 249th Avenue.  The 9-1-1 caller reported a car had collided with a large tree at this location.  

Upon arrival, EMS located the vehicle and its driver, Christensen, who was deceased inside the vehicle.  The CCSO Traffic Unit responded and is investigating. The vehicle is an older model BMW sedan. 

It is apparent that excessive speed is a causing factor in this collision.
