Vancouver Police arrest two in drug and weapons case

Subjects arrested are known Sureno gang members

VANCOUVER — On Nov. 16, detectives from the Neighborhood Response Team and Safe Streets Task Force, with the assistance of SW Washington Regional SWAT team, served a search warrant at 1523 X St. for evidence of the crime(s) of Possession of Controlled Substance (PCS) with Intent Meth and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (UPF)/Firearms Trafficking involving Sureno gang members.

Three subjects were contacted at the residence including:

  • Javier Solis Valero, 9-25-83
  • Rene Morales, 4-13-91

Javier Solis Valero has multiple convictions for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance and an arrest for Attempted Murder out of Oregon.  Both Javier Solis Valero and Rene Morales are Sureno gang members.

During the service of the search warrant on the residence, and a 2013 Honda Accord, Detectives located ¼ pound of pre-packaged methamphetamine, user amounts of cocaine and a stolen 9mm handgun.

Javier Solis Valero was booked into the Clark County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance Cocaine, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a stolen firearm.

Rene Morales was booked into the Clark County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.

The investigation is ongoing and nothing further is releasable at this time.
