Temporary closures on West Camas Slough Bridge April 13 and 14

During the closures, crews will use an under bridge inspection truck to work below the roadway and evaluate the bridge structure

CAMAS — Travelers who use State Route 14 near Camas will encounter full eastbound closures of the West Camas Slough Bridge April 13-14 for routine bridge inspection work.

Washington State Department of Transportation crews will close the eastbound bridge from 6 to 10:30 a.m. on Sat., April 13 and Sun., April 14. Westbound travel will remain open.

During the closures, crews will use an under bridge inspection truck to work below the roadway and evaluate the bridge structure. The truck takes up most of the highway when in operation, leaving no room for drivers to safely cross the bridge during inspection work.

Detour details

Travelers can navigate around the closure by following a signed detour route through Camas onto sections of Northwest 6th Avenue, Northeast 6th Avenue, Northeast Adams Street and Northeast 3rd Avenue.

Added traffic may cause minor delays in Camas, so drivers should plan extra time to make their trips. The SR-14 West Camas Slough Bridge is inspected every two years, and carries an average of 29,000 daily travelers.
