Event raises $197,000 for Police Activities League of SW Washington

Anonymous donor contributed $100,000 to organization’s efforts

VANCOUVER — The Police Activities League of SW Washington (PAL) held the 3rd annual evening fundraising event Heart Behind the Badge last week. The event included a youth speaker from Marrion Elementary as well as stories shared by law enforcement officers from the Vancouver Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The event raised $97,000 and an anonymous donor stepped up to add an additional $100,000, bringing the final fundraising for the evening to $197,000.

“We are absolutely thrilled and humbled by the generosity of our community, so thank you. 2019 has been a great year and we are looking forward to 2020,” said PAL Executive Director Jenny Thompson.

PAL has one more fundraising event scheduled in 2019, the annual Christmas Ships Viewing with River Twain at Warehouse ’23. The event is set for Dec. 11.
