The first engine arrived at about 7:30 a.m. to find a large detached garage fully involved in flames. The garage was approximately 15 feet from the main house. Due to the volume of fire and heat, the house was at risk of catching fire also. Initial action by the first arriving crew focused on protecting the house from catching fire. Once additional crews arrived, efforts were turned toward extinguishing the garage fire.

Due to the home’s location between two distant fire hydrants, Water tenders were requested for additional water supply.

Fire crews from neighboring Clark County Fire District 3 and Clark County Fire District 6 responded and assisted with fire extinguishment. Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded for traffic control due to the volume of traffic on NE 199th Street.

The cause has not yet been determined. The fire investigation is being conducted by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.

There were no injuries as a result of this fire and no one was displaced.
