Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office confirms causes of death in Amboy shooting

Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is conducting investigation into weekend homicide/suicide

On Tuesday, the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office issued opinions on the death certificates of two Amboy men killed over the weekend in a suspected homicide/suicide.

The medical examiner determined that Vernon W. Snider, 84, of Amboy, died as the result of multiple gunshot wounds to the head. The manner of death was listed as a homicide.

The examiner also determined that Robert E. Rowland, 56, of Amboy, died as the result of a gunshot wound to the head with a handgun. The manner of death was determined to be suicide.

On Saturday at about 7 p.m., deputies with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to 24707 NE 419th street, Amboy, on a report of a possible Homicide.  Deputies arrived and discovered the bodies of two deceased males. Both males appeared to have been shot. One of the males appeared to have died by means of a self inflicted injury.
