The motorcyclist, 20-year-old Vadim S. Gensitsky, died at the scene after the crash involving his 2007 Kawasaki ZX600 and a 2013 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The driver of the truck, 62-year-old Battle Ground resident James A. Spencer, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 9-1-1 caller reported at about 7:13 p.m. that the collision resulted in a fire.

“Scene evidence and witness statements revealed that a southbound motorcyclist traveling at high speed collided with an eastbound pickup, when the pickup pulled into the path of the motorcycle,” according to a press release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. “Witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling well in excess of the posted 50 mph speed just prior to the collision, and had passed at least one southbound vehicle just before crashing.  The driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.”

The collision is under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit.

No charges have been filed and all potential causes are being investigated, according to the sheriff’s office.
