Those who gather will remain in their cars to worship in parking lot as before
VANCOUVER — As Washington moves into Phase One of Gov. Jay Inslee’s plan to reopen the state, Living Hope Church in Vancouver will reinstate its drive-in church services.
Service times will be Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. with weekend services on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. Audio of the worship and speaking will be broadcast through car’s FM radios.
The FM transmitter broadcasts clear audio a radius of one mile, and the entire service will be live streamed to Living Hope’s Facebook page, much like many churches across the country. FM 102.7 is the station the church uses to broadcast the live worship and message.
“These are historical times we’re living in,” said Pastor Doug Frazier in a video statement. “The coronavirus is impacting us all, but we at Living Hope Church believe we’ve found a creative way for us to still gather. We hope that you’ll consider joining us.”

“Before the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order was initiated, we had moved to this model and it was amazing,” said Stephanie Anderson, community coordinator for Living Hope, in an email. “People pulled into our parking lot and were able to watch the service from their cars and listen by turning to 102.7 FM. They responded by raising their hands, honking their horns, and flashing their lights. We are so excited to be able to meet again as a community in this way!”
