The cost for either the 5K or 10K version of the Turkey Trot is $25. A Polar Bear Plunge afterward costs an additional $5. All proceeds benefit the Clark County Food Bank, which feeds low-income individuals and families throughout the county.

The Turkey Trot encourages runners of all ages and abilities to participate. Food, including bagels, donuts and bananas, as well as coffee will be provided at the race and runners who dress in costume (anything fun or Thanksgiving-related goes!) can win prizes. The course follows a mostly paved, clearly marked trail that starts and ends at Klineline Pond.

An annual event started in 2002 by a few Clark County families, the Turkey Trot now gathers more than 1,000 runners each year and, last year, donated enough money to buy 90,000 meals last Thanksgiving. For more information, visit www.turkey-trot.org.
