Area residents invited to spring into action for annual Propstra Square flower planting, cleanup

Community volunteer event starts at 10 a.m. Sat., May 18

VANCOUVER — The city of Vancouver is teaming up with Parks Foundation of Clark County and Vancouver’s Downtown Association for the annual Propstra Square flower planting and downtown cleanup community volunteer event starting at 10 a.m. Sat., May 18.

Volunteers of all ages are invited to lend a hand for a few hours planting flowers at Esther Short Park, removing litter and weeds, and completing other basic landscape maintenance tasks in Vancouver’s downtown core. They will join previously-committed volunteers from LSW Architects, Pacific Girls Soccer Team, Wild Fin, Comfort Inn, Hilton Vancouver Washington and the 45th Columbia River Otter Scouts.

Volunteers will be treated to snacks donated by Simply Sweets and lunch provided by a donation from the Hilton Vancouver Washington. The event is also being sponsored by Waste Connections, Solve, Devine Consign, Frontier Landscaping and the sale of engraved bricks at Propstra Square through the Parks Foundation of Clark County.
