Tickets are on sale and donations are welcomed
VANCOUVER — Furry Friends is hosting its annual dinner and auction fundraiser on Sat., Sept. 14 from 5-9 p.m. at The Heathman Lodge, 7801 NE Greenwood Drive, Vancouver. The organization’s volunteers will be celebrating their 20th year of operation.
While purely optional, attendees are encouraged to appear in costumes that reflect a Star Wars theme. The Cloud City Garrison will be attending in costume to help set the mood and be available for photo opportunities. This group is a chapter of The 501st Legion of Stormtroopers, a Star Wars Imperial costuming club. The 501st is dedicated to the movie-quality costumes of the “villains” of the Star Wars universe. At 5 p.m., attendees are invited to have complimentary photos taken and to place their bids on the scintillating array of silent auction items. A plated dinner will follow that offers a meat or vegetarian entrée and a dessert. Auctioneer Doug Quinn will gavel the live auction and the evening will conclude with a prize for the most popular costume.
Salmon Creek Plastic Surgery, Iron Gate Storage and Front Door Realty are premier sponsors and Pacific NW Specialty Pharmacy is a silver sponsor for the event. Donations to the auction from local businesses and generous individuals include vacation and entertainment experiences, winery tours and tastings, gift certificates to local eateries, gift baskets, pet and personal items, handmade gifts and more.
