Yard Tree Giveaway

October 19 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm UTC-7

This fall, Vancouver Urban Forestry will distribute free yard trees through our Yard Tree Giveaway Program.

Yard trees are trees planted on private, residential property. Data from the 2011 tree canopy study revealed that private property in Vancouver has the most potential to have more trees planted. Vancouver’s total tree canopy is only 18.6%, which means we are missing out on the many environmental, economic, health, and social benefits that a healthy tree canopy provides. Planting trees on private property will help meet our goal of 28% tree canopy by 2030.

We are giving away free yard trees on Saturday, October 19th at David Douglas Community Park from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

For more information, such as to find out if you are eligible for a free yard tree and what species there are to choose from, and to receive event reminders, you can visit our event page here.

Let’s get planting!

You are not required to RSVP for a tree, however the event is first-come, first-serve so if you want a guarantee that you’ll get a tree, we suggest you do! Follow this link to reserve your spot!
