Southwest Washington Wind Symphony Concert
October 21 @ 3:00 pm
The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony opens its 14th season with a concert entitled “Autumn Impressions.” Inspired by the painting “September Hut” by artist Sheep Jones, conductor Patrick Murphy has selected a program of beautiful and spirited works including “Scarecrow Overture” by Joseph Turrin, “Under the Willow” by Julie Giroux, and “Night on Fire” by John Mackey.
Admission is free. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early to view “September Hut” and other original oil paintings by Keith Lindberg, Carole Watanabe, and Marianne Kolb at a silent auction to benefit the wind symphony. The paintings were donated by the Give Art Foundation, a nonprofit managed by well-known local art philanthropists Grace Teigen and Gene Wigglesworth. Additional art will be silently auctioned during our 2018-2019 season.
