Southwest Washington Wind Symphony

The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony invites you to attend their free concert on Sunday, Mar. 1 at 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Union High School, 6201 NW Friberg-Strunk St., Camas, WA. The Wind Symphony welcomes one of its founding conductors, Mark Lane, back to the podium at a concert entitled “Heart & Voice.”

The program includes selections by American, Czech, and German composers that portray the colorful and enduring nature of the human spirit. The program includes “In My Father’s Eyes” by Julie Giroux which was dedicated to the victims of the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, “Endurance” by Timothy Mahr inspired by the 1914 expedition to the Antarctic by Sir Ernest Shackleton, and more.

The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony is a 55 – musician, professional quality concert band based in Vancouver.
