Boater Safety Class
October 26, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm UTC-7
“Boating safety classes save lives. That’s what the local sheriff department and marine boat patrol tell us,” said US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 78 Vice Flotilla Commander (VFC) Karl Johnston. “People who have taken them are much more knowledgeable and compliant with boater safety laws, and know what to do if they do have an accident.”
“And it’s the law,” VFC Johnston added.
The State of Washington requires every boat operator over the age of 12 years who was born after 1955 to take a boater safety class. In Oregon, all boat operators over the age of 12 are required to do so.
How can boat operators satisfy this requirement? A onetime boater safety class is offered by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 78 from 8am to 5pm on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Clark County Services Building at 4700 NE 78th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98665.
There is a $10 fee for the class, payable with registration at the door on the day of the class. For more information about the class, or to sign up in advance, contact Jason Young at (360)558-8747 or by email at PEflotilla78@gmail.com
