This score from Week 2 looks a lot different than how this game was played. King’s Way Christian actually led 21-14 in the second quarter. Lack of depth caught up with the Knights the rest of the way.

Note: Did not get to review this game on video, but got these notes from the coach.

Coach Speak:

What did Tom Schroeder learn about his team in Week 2? “We played good in spurts but have to play a full four quarters. It’s tough with not very many guys. We need to condition better.”

Coaching staff’s pick for MVP on offense: Running back Gage Koenders. Not a whole lot of yards, but did score a couple touchdowns, and, his coach said, he kept running hard.

Coaching staff’s pick for MVP on defense: Riley Danberg and Bryce Dodge both for never giving up,’’ Schroeder said. “Going against big lineman and played the whole way both sides of the ball.”

Thoughts on Week 3 vs. Bainbridge: “Things don’t get any easier,’’ Schroeder said. “Bainbridge is an extremely athletic team and a 3A team with lots of dudes.”
