Vancouver welcomes new development review manager, Jason Nortz

VANCOUVER The city of Vancouver has hired a new development review division manager.

Jason Nortz, a former director of development services for the city of Asheville, North Carolina, will take over as the city of Vancouver’s new development review division manager on Tue., Jan. 17.
As the city of Vancouver’s new development review division manager, Jason Nortz will oversee building permits, land use review, engineering permits, code compliance and all other functions of the city’s Permit Center.

Jason Nortz, a former director of development services for the city of Asheville, North Carolina, and planning manager for the city of Palo Alto, California, will begin working for the city of Vancouver on Tue.,  Jan. 17.

 

Nortz earned his bachelor’s degree at Ohio University and his master’s degree in urban and regional planning at San Jose State University. He will manage business conducted by the city’s Permit Center, including land-use reviews, engineering permits, building permits and code compliance.

 

In  a press release announcing the new development review division manager’s hiring, Vancouver Community and Economic Development Director Chad Eiken said Nortz brings “a wealth of development review experience” to the city of Vancouver.

 

“(Nortz) has shown a strong commitment to serving the public and seeking ways to continually enhance services,” Eiken said. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the city of Vancouver.”
