Hosted by Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance in partnership with the city of Battle Ground, Battle Ground Police Department, and Fire District 3, National Night Out provides activities, information, resources and entertainment for the entire family.

Attendees have the opportunity to tour police and fire vehicles, meet police officers and firefighters, and chat with the Chiefs.  The Fire District 3 Safe House will be onsite as a tool to teach children what to do in case of a fire in their home. Prevent Together coalition members will be available to talk about efforts to reduce and prevent youth substance abuse.  Battle Ground Roadmap Navigators will be on hand to take your input on the future of Battle Ground, and there will be numerous other health, safety, and community-oriented resources offering information and fun, free activities and prizes. For a list of all participants, visit the Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance website at http://www.preventtogetherbg.org

Free hot dogs, chips, and water will be served, and the entertainment will not disappoint.  Back by popular demand is Northwest Rock Academy, a talented group of student musicians playing everyone’s favorites, and new to National Night Out this year is a performance by the BlackPearl Friesian Dance Troupe, a group of horses and riders performing choreographed dances.

“National Night Out is about strengthening connections with neighbors and partners to create a safe and resilient community,” said Prevent Together Coalition Coordinator Kathy Deschner, “This is our third year of hosting the event and we are thrilled with the response from the community.”

The Prevent Together coalition thanks all National Night Out participants and recognizes supporting partners Molina Health Care and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, and Safeway, Corwin Beverage Company and Fred Meyer for providing the food and refreshments.

The mission of Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance is together we will prevent and reduce youth substance abuse in the Battle Ground community by building resiliency, strengthening relationships and providing education for families and community members.
