Several businesses in downtown Camas burglarized early Monday morning

CAMAS — Early the morning of Mon., Feb. 13, suspect(s) burglarized several businesses in the downtown Camas area. The suspect(s) forced entry to the businesses by smashing out windows and once inside stole cash, credit cards, electronics and food items.

According to a news release from the Camas Police Department, the businesses that have been identified so far are:

  • Artkana, 415 NE 4th Ave.
  • Cake Happy, 340 NE 4th Ave.
  • Dance Evolution, 334 NE 4th Ave.
  • Journey Community Church, 304 NE 4th Ave.
  • Wild Hair, 418 NE Cedar St.
  • Happy Island Restaurant, 419 NE Cedar St.
  • Attic Gallery, 421 NE Cedar St.
  • Straub’s, 325 NE 3rd Ave.

At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Tue., Feb. 14, Camas Police were advised that Washington County Sheriff Deputies had been in a vehicle pursuit in the Beaverton area. During the pursuit, deputies lost sight of the vehicle but found it a short time later after it had been involved in a collision. The occupants fled and were not located.

Inside the car was evidence of the burglaries that occurred in several downtown Camas businesses. The vehicle has been reported stolen out of Vancouver on Feb. 6.

Camas Police investigators are currently examining all of the evidence and following leads. No additional information will be released at this time. Anyone with information about this crime os asked to call the Camas Police Department at (360) 834-4151.
