The White House education symposium is part of the Obama Administration’s plan to bolster digital learning and advance the role of research and development to inform and improve education, and is an opportunity to support high-impact education research and development and digital learning in the years ahead.

Dr. Webb first joined the Vancouver school district, which has more than 24,000 students at 37 schools, as deputy superintendent in 2006 and was appointed to serve as superintendent in 2008. He is the 2016 Washington State Superintendent of the Year. In 2015, the U.S. Department of Education named Webb a Future Ready Leader, and in 2014, the Vancouver schools leader was one of eight public school heads in the nation selected by eSchool News as a Tech-Savvy Superintendent.
Webb has led the Vancouver district in creating a strategic plan that prioritizes flexible learning environments, including one-to-one devices for all students in grades 3-12 to support the adaptive skills graduates need to thrive in an increasingly interdependent economy and global community.
